At the moment I am curious about the male form. The art world is dominated by the female form, and rarely do you see representations of the male form in its entirety. Thus my more recent work looks to explore the male form through digital illustration. But, all I really have to give you is my art.

I Liiiiiiiiiivvvvvvvvvveeeeeee! Man has it been awhile. Alls I can say is, life happened. I tried working on this project over the summer, but there was just no way I would be able to stay sane and succeed at my job at the same time. Happy and excited to be back however. Not so sure this was the Pokemon I wanted to return with however, my illustration looks far to much like a Rattata in the face…Anywho, here is an Illustration of Nidoran (Female), using the pen and brush tools in Illustrator. The font, “Princesse Muffin”, was designed by Evuez, and downloaded from dafont.com.

Now that I have settled in at my new job I no longer have an excuse for not doing these. Especially considering that the shows I am designing are next month. I like the vector shading on this one but, that did not leave me many options lining wise, so the that is a bit erratic but infinitely better than no lining. Anywho, this is an illustration of Sandslash done in Illustrator using the pen and brush tools. The font “Clawripper” was designed by Anthony Robinson and downloaded from dafont.com.

Is it me or does Sandshrew look like he is wearing a gas mask? Initially when I was drawing him I was afraid that his face would come out a little to droopy like Drowzee’s but I think I managed alright. With this one I really could not find a typeface I liked so I tried playing around with shades and opacities to give it a sandier feel, but I am not sure I was entirely successful. Anywho…this is an illustration of Sandshrew done in Illustrator using the pen and brush tools. The font “A Bebedera” was designed by deFharo and downloaded from dafont.com.

I just realized that with the top of their mouths lined and their eyes greyish, Raichu and Pikachu look like sirs. Jolly sirs, but sirs indeed, all they need are bow ties and cans to complete the look. Eventually I’ll catch up with these things and wont have to bombard facebook with them. Anywho…this is an illustration of Raichu done in Illustrator using the brush and pen tools. The font “Electric Panda” was designed by Dirt2.com and downloaded from dafont.com.

This one had me nervous. Pikachu, being “the” Pokemon and all. Everyone knows who he is, what he looks like, and I am sure we all remember all the time we spent in Viridian Forest trying our damnedest to catch one so we could be like Ash. I think with this one I have done an alright job, it looks cute, the font looks cute, and overall the illustration is cute. Anywho…this is an illustration of Pikachu done in Illustrator using the pen and brush tools. The font “Lightning Strike” was designed by Ruark Brumbaugh and downloaded from dafont.com.

Friggin SNAKES! Arbok and Ekans where probably the two hardest I have had to do so far. I am not looking forward to Seviper and Serperior. Something about their shape makes it tough to define the figure with vector shading, but I think I did an alright job of it. I really like the type on this one though, I think it does a good job of highlighting the play on Arbok’s name. Anywho…this is an illustration of Arbok done in Illustrator using the pen and brush tools. The font “Pulse Sans Virgin” was designed by Eric Mynahan and downloaded from dafont.com.

I always doug Ekans. Until of course I found out snakes ate eggs which in my 10 year old mind meant he was eating Exeggcute which was horrifying. Since, I have never really warmed up to Ekans although I here he become something of a best after he evolves. When Nintendo created Seviper however, I did eventually warm up to snake Pokemon. Anywho…this is an illustration of Ekans done in Illustrator using the pen and brush tools. The font, “VTKS News Label” was designed by Douglas Vitkauskas and downloaded from dafont.com.

I think the only thing I know about Fearow is some wingspan statistic that I now cannot remember that I learned from my pokedex back when those where cool. I think this is one of the few pokemon that I have never used. Something about flying types…Anywho, this is an illustration of Fearow done in Illustrator using the pen and brush tools. Something about this says speed racer. I think its the font and how Spearow is angled. I feel like I am advertising a retro race care or something. I am indifferent about Spearow as a pokemon. For what ever reason flying type pokemon are generally my least favorite type. I do not know if it is their design or what, either way, I am not a fan. ou know, I did not hate Raticate as much as Rattata, because he had hyper fang. On the other hand however he is still a giant rat, and being a New Yorker I do not particularly like that brand of rodent. That and Team Rocket thought it prudent to try to take over the world with these. Anywho, this is an illustration of Raticate done in Illustrator using the pen and brush tools.
